What is Python?
Python is a popular programming language known for its simple and readable syntax. It is used by both beginners and professional developers in many different fields.
Python is a high-level, general-purpose programming language. Its relatively simple syntax makes Python easier to read and understand compared with many other programming languages.
Python is used in web development, artificial intelligence, machine learning, data analysis, automation, scientific computing, and many other areas.
There is also a large ecosystem of Python libraries and frameworks that extend the language's capabilities.
In short
Python is a versatile programming language known for its readable syntax and wide range of applications.
What is Python used for?
Python can be used in many areas of software development.
Web development
Python can be used to build the server side of websites and web applications. Frameworks such as Django and Flask are commonly used for this purpose.
Artificial intelligence
Python is widely used in artificial intelligence and machine learning projects. Many libraries are available for processing data and developing models.
Data analysis
Python can be used to process, analyze, and visualize large amounts of data.
Automation
Python scripts can automate repetitive tasks such as processing files and data.
Education
Because of its readable syntax, Python is also widely used for teaching programming.
In short
Python is used for web development, artificial intelligence, data analysis, automation, and programming education.
Is Python difficult to learn?
Python is often chosen by people who are starting to learn programming because its syntax is relatively simple and readable.
However, learning Python at an advanced level requires time and practice. Developers need to understand variables, conditions, loops, functions, data structures, object-oriented programming, and other concepts.
How to start learning Python?
A beginner can follow this order:
- Learn basic Python syntax
- Learn variables and data types
- Learn conditions and loops
- Learn functions
- Learn lists, dictionaries, and other data structures
- Build small projects
- Learn libraries related to a chosen field
Writing code regularly is an important part of learning programming.
In short
Python can be a good language for beginners, but reaching a good level requires continuous learning and practice.
What can you do with Python?
Python can be used to create everything from small scripts to complex software projects.
With Python, you can:
- Build web applications
- Create automation scripts
- Analyze data
- Develop artificial intelligence projects
- Process files automatically
- Work with APIs
- Perform calculations
- Create simple games and programs
- Work on scientific and technical projects
Simple example
name = "Nibras Code"
print("Hello,", name)This code stores a value in a variable and displays it on the screen.
In short
Python is a general-purpose language that can be used for many different programming and automation projects.
Difference Between Python and JavaScript
Python and JavaScript are both widely used programming languages, but they are commonly used for different purposes. Python is popular for artificial intelligence, data analysis, automation, and backend development. JavaScript is mainly used to create interactive websites and frontend applications. It can also be used for backend development with technologies such as Node.js.
Difference Between Python and Java
Python and Java are popular programming languages used for different purposes. Python has a simple and readable syntax and is widely used in artificial intelligence, data analysis, automation, and backend development. Java is commonly used for large software systems, backend services, enterprise applications, and applications designed to run across different platforms.
Python code examples
Practical examples can help beginners understand Python syntax.
Print text
print("Hello, World!")Add two numbers
a = 10 b = 5 result = a + b print(result)
Use a condition
score = 85
if score >= 50:
print("Passed")
else:
print("Failed")Loop example
for i in range(1, 6):
print(i)Simple function
def add(a, b):
return a + b
print(add(10, 20))These examples provide a simple introduction to Python programming.
Advantages and disadvantages of Python
Like any programming language, Python has both advantages and limitations.
Advantages
- Readable syntax: Python code is relatively easy to read and write.
- Wide range of applications: Python is used in areas ranging from web development to artificial intelligence.
- Large ecosystem: There are many libraries and frameworks for different tasks.
- Large community: Many tutorials, documentation resources, and examples are available.
- Cross-platform: Python can be used on different operating systems.
Disadvantages
Python is not necessarily the best choice for every project. In some situations where very high performance or strict resource limitations are important, other programming languages may be more suitable.
Python programs can also be slower in some cases than programs written in compiled languages.
In short
The advantages and limitations of Python depend on the requirements of the project.
Python syntax and basic concepts
Understanding several basic concepts is important when starting with Python.
Variables
Variables are used to store data.
name = "Mahir" age = 25
Conditions
The "if" statement allows different code to run depending on a condition.
age = 20
if age >= 18:
print("Adult")Loops
Loops allow an operation to be repeated.
for i in range(5):
print(i)Functions
Functions are reusable blocks of code.
def greet(name):
print("Hello,", name)
greet("Nibras Code")Important Python concepts include variables, data types, conditions, loops, functions, and data structures.
Working examples
The short lines above show one idea. These examples carry a small job from the start to the end. You can run each one as it is. Look at the result first, then change a number or a name and run it again.
Print names from a list
Several names stand in one place. That place is a list. for takes each name in turn and writes it. If you add a name, the loop writes that too. You do not write a separate print for every name.
names = ["Aysel", "Murad", "Nigar"]
for name in names:
print("Hello,", name)The output is three lines: Hello, Aysel, then Murad, then Nigar.
Remember one student
A dictionary keeps several facts about one thing. Here the name and the score stay together. You write the key, and the value comes back. If the score is 50 or more, Passed is written. Below 50 this condition does nothing. Set the score to 40 to see that.
student = {"name": "Aysel", "score": 85}
print(student["name"])
if student["score"] >= 50:
print("Passed")Aysel comes first, then Passed. If the key is wrong, Python does not find that name.
Find the average score
The scores are in a list. total starts at zero and each score is added to it. At the end the total is divided by the count. len tells how many numbers are in the list. The average of 70, 80, and 90 is 80. If you add a fourth score, the divisor changes by itself.
scores = [70, 80, 90]
total = 0
for score in scores:
total = total + score
average = total / len(scores)
print(average)80.0 appears on the screen. This example does not round the number.
Give the pass check to a function
Instead of writing the same check in two places, you write one function. It takes a score and returns a word. return sends that word out of the function. The print below calls the function and shows what came back. When the rule changes, you only change the inside of the function.
def passed(score):
if score >= 50:
return "Passed"
return "Failed"
print(passed(40))
print(passed(75))Failed comes first, then Passed. 50 itself counts as passed, because the check is greater than or equal.
