How do you install an app on a phone?
The simplest way is to open the phone's own store and search for the app name. Other apps with a similar name can appear. Check the developer name and the icon before you install.
If there is no store and you must open a file yourself, open only a file that came from a place you trust. When the phone asks permission for that source, read what it opens.
