When should you make a file smaller?

Making a file smaller is useful when sending or keeping it is hard. Pictures, and PDFs that contain pictures, take the most room. A short text file changes little after it is reduced.

Reducing it too far blurs writing and lines. Open the result before you send it. If it is not readable, keep a less compressed copy.
